Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still soaring to new box office heights.

Sony Pictures‘ spectacularly successful superhero blockbuster has become the highest-grossing title on the all-time North American chart with $936.773 million. The new domestic champion hit the top spot after 47 days of release, surpassing the previous record of $936.6 million for 2015’s Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s historic run has included becoming the fastest feature to hit every major domestic milestone, from $400 million through $900 million. Additionally, it stands at No. 3 on the all-time global chart, behind overall leader Avatar and second-place title Avengers: Endgame.

Hailing from producers Marvel Studios and Amy Pascal, Brand New Day centers on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man as he endures a lonely existence before an unseen foe tracks him down.

Zendaya, Sadie Sink and Jon Bernthal also star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton’s movie approaching its eighth weekend of release after launching in theaters July 31. It led the domestic box office in its first six weekends. On Aug. 25, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Spider-Man: Brand New Day had surpassed Avengers: Endgame for No. 2 on the domestic chart.

The movie’s record-breaking run has included surpassing Endgame for the biggest domestic opening weekend ever with $360 million. It went on to earn the highest-grossing first week in domestic box office history and become the second-fastest film (after Endgame) to reach $1 billion globally.

Brand New Day helped make this the highest-grossing summer ever at the global box office with a sum of $4.765 billion, topping the previous record from 2013. Also adding to this summer’s coffers were such hits as Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Toy Story 5 and The Devil Wears Prada 2.
