Ahead of the mini auction for the 2027 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), teams have made strategic decisions hoping to finetune their squads into winning combinations.
WPL 2027 gets underway on January 14, 2027 and will go on till February 7.
Across the five WPL franchises – Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Giants (GG), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and UP Warriorz (UPW) – 63 players, including 23 overseas stars, have been retained, ahead of the fifth season of one of the most decorated women’s T20 leagues in the world. A total of 27 slots, including 7 overseas slots remain available ahead of the auction.

UP Warriorz will enter the mini auction on October 28 with the biggest purse and needs to figure a way to infuse some explosiveness in its batting order in particular for the 2027 season of the tournament.
RCB and UP Warriorz have two overseas slots to fill, while Mumbai and UP Warriorz have the most number of slots to fill - seven.
