‘The Inbetweeners’ duo Joe Thomas and James Buckley are making a travel series for Channel 4

The Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and James Buckley are coming together to make a travel show for Channel 4.

The pair were castmates on the beloved sitcom between 2008 and 2010, as well as two movies, with a third film having recently been announced. Ahead of that release, the pair will be making a four-part travel show titled Joe And James: Boys To Men.

The press release for the show reads: “Now a little bit older, but not necessarily any wiser, best mates Joe Thomas and James Buckley – who first hit our screens as Simon and Jay in The Inbetweeners – are back on Channel 4 and on a mission to work out how adulting works and how exactly you make the most of midlife without a crisis.”

“Joe recently entered his 40s and James is joining him there next year,” it continued, “so they’re embarking on an epic-ish journey to figure out what that means and what’s acceptable for them to be doing now they’re ‘grown up’. Who should and shouldn’t they be hanging out with and where can and can’t they go?”

The production describes the pair as having “very different approaches to life,” describing Thomas as “introspective” and Buckley as having a “straight-talking, no-nonsense approach.” The show’s airdate is yet to be announced.

The actors are currently filming the third Inbetweeners movie, the long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s second film. Recently, Buckley was believed to have given away a plot point in the new movie after he shared a video of himself on set on social media.

Elsewhere, the creators of the show, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, took to Instagram to confirm that not everyone who appeared in the original series would be returning for the new film, writing: “We just couldn’t find a plausible way in the script to bring back all our lovely ‘friends’.”
