Peacock Unveils Full Trailer & First-Look Photos For ‘Crystal Lake’ Series Starring Linda Cardellini
The full trailer for Peacock’s Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake, which arrives Oct. 15 on the streamer, has been released.
From A24 and creator Brad Caleb Kane, Crystal Lake stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, a single mother who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before.
“When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?” the plot synopsis teases.
The curse on Crystal Lake is traced back to Jason’s previous drowning as a group sits around a campfire in the dark. The legend begins with Cardellini’s Voorhees, as something still lurks in the woods, only knowing how to kill.
“The time has come, so let out a cheer,” a creepy childrens’ chorus chants at the opening of the teaser clip released earlier today. The whole image turns red as a gruesomely shrouded body is wheeled out on a stretcher, dark hair cascading down the side.
All eight episodes of the horror series will premiere the same date in October. Each episode is around an hour long. Alongside Cardellini, series regulars include William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. Recurring cast includes Callum Vinson, Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch, Phoenix Parnevik.
Executive producers include Brad Caleb Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian, Stuart Manashil, Tyson Bidner, Michael Lennox and Roy Lee. Michael Lennox directed the first three episodes. Celine Held and Logan George directed episodes 104-106. Quyen Tran directed the penultimate and finale episodes.
