Square Enix has announced a new Final Fantasy anniversary collection, which will be releasing in the early part of 2027. The long-running RPG series is no stranger to collections like this one. The official trading card game has gotten a couple over the past few years and the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters 1-6 collection had a staggered release that began in 2021. That's not even including the recent merchandise to go along with the anniversaries of Final Fantasy 9 and FF10.
With all of these anniversaries, it's been a good time to be a Final Fantasy fan. But with the celebrations winding down for both FF9 and FF10, the attention is seemingly turning toward Final Fantasy 7, which released in 1997 and will be turning 30 next year. While the new collection isn't purely focused on the seventh entry, Final Fantasy 7 does get the most attention here.
Square Enix has announced the Final Fantasy TCG: Anniversary Collection Set 2027, which will be releasing on January 22, 2027. The box, which features the FF7 Remake versions of Cloud and Sephiroth, features almost 200 cards from a number of previously-released sets, ranging from Opus VI to Journey of Discovery. Those cards are reprints, but the box will also come with a pre-constructed deck and 3 new promo cards, all of which are full-art cards featuring Cloud.
The Final Fantasy TCG: Anniversary Collection Set for 2027 will contain the following:
- 58-card pre-constructed deck
- 3 new promo cards featuring Cloud
- 189 reprinted cards
- 1 Quick Start Guide
- 1 Storage box
Essentially, it's everything you'll need to start playing the Final Fantasy TCG. And if you play already, then it's a nice collector's item, especially if you adore Final Fantasy 7 and the remakes.
Of course, not all of the cards will feature characters exclusive to FF7. Cecil from Final Fantasy 4, Emet-Selch from FF14, Selphie from Final Fantasy 8, and Firion from Final Fantasy 2 have all been confirmed to be included inside the box set already. Considering there's almost 200 reprinted cards, these characters are likely only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
The Final Fantasy Trading Card Game Anniversary Collection Set 2027 is available for preorder now from major retailers like Best Buy. It's currently got an MSRP of $89.99, which isn't bad considering the number of cards included in the box. If you're looking to jump start your collection, this can be a solid way to do that.
Of course, the timing of the new set can't be ignored. It'll be releasing 30 years after the original Final Fantasy 7 came out and just a couple of months ahead of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation's release. In other words, if you're a fan of FF7, this latest Final Fantasy collection is probably going to be perfect for you.

Final Fantasy is Square Enix’s flagship fantasy RPG franchise and one of gaming’s defining anthology series. Created by Hironobu Sakaguchi, the property spans standalone mainline games, direct sequels, spin-offs, films, anime, and live-action adaptations, with each major entry introducing a new world, new heroes, and a new conflict while preserving recurring franchise DNA. Across decades, Final Fantasy has built its identity around ambitious storytelling, technological leaps, and a willingness to reinvent itself without losing its core sense of wonder.
