Motivational speaker remanded over grooming, sexual harassment allegations

KANGAR: A motivational speaker linked to allegations of sexual harassment and grooming involving minors has been remanded for two days to assist police investigations.
The remand order was granted by senior assistant registrar Mohd Amiruldin Roslan at the Kangar Court Complex following an application by the investigating officer.
The suspect, clad in black, arrived at the court complex at 9.30am under heavy police escort.
Police had earlier urged him to come forward to assist in the investigation.
Perlis police chief Deputy Commissioner Hamzah Hashim confirmed that a report was lodged at 2.09am on Sept 26.
The case is being investigated under Section 12 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a penalty of up to five years' imprisonment and whipping upon conviction.
The arrest follows allegations by several female victims on social media, who accused the married man of sexual harassment and grooming.
According to the allegations, the suspect approached victims on TikTok under the guise of work or educational matters before allegedly proposing that they become his "sugar baby" and check into hotels.s
Following the allegations, Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek on Thursday ordered the immediate suspension of all school programmes involving the independent speaker to protect student safety and welfare.
