Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) handed over 259,230.73 hectares of reclaimed forest area land to the Forestry Ministry in its phase 8 handover.

The symbolic handover was carried out by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin to Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto at the Attorney General's Office building here on Tuesday.

Burhanuddin said in his presentation that the hundreds of thousands of hectares consist of plantation sector land covering 140,762.04 hectares, forest conservation and protected forest areas covering 118,256.74 hectares, and mining sector land covering 211.95 hectares.

For plantation sector land, Satgas PKH will hand it over to the Forestry Ministry to be managed by state-owned plantation company PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara.

Forest conservation and protected forest land will be handed for reforestation. Mining sector land will also be handed over to the ministry.

Burhanuddin said that Satgas PKH has successfully regained control of forest areas, both in the oil palm plantation sector and the mining sector.

In the oil palm plantation sector, since its establishment in February 2025 until today, Satgas PKH has regained control of 6,206,212.14 hectares of forest area.

In the mining sector, Satgas PKH has regained control of 14,633.79 hectares of forest area.

Burhanuddin said the achievement reflects the state's presence in safeguarding natural wealth, upholding the authority of the law, and ensuring that resources are state property.

This is in line with the mandate of Article 33 Paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution, which states that land, water, and the natural resources contained within are controlled by the state and used for the greatest benefit of the people.

"In the end, the greatest possible benefits can be provided for the prosperity of the people," he said.

Satgas PKH was established under Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025 on Forest Area Enforcement. The regulation was issued by President Prabowo Subianto on January 21, 2025.
