Asian Games 2026: Sri Lanka beats Pakistan to enter women’s cricket final

Sri Lanka will now face the winner of the second semifinal set to be played between India and Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka thumped Pakistan by eight wickets at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Sunday to enter the final of the women’s cricket event at the Asian Games 2026.
Skipper Chamari Athapaththu powered the chase with a sparkling unbeaten 83 as Sri Lanka wiped off Pakistan’s 179-run target with 13 balls to spare.
Sri Lanka will now face the winner of the second semifinal between India and Bangladesh.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Pakistan found its batting rhythm through fifties from Shawaal Zulfiqar and Ayesha Zafar. They put on a 115-run stand for the third wicket, recording the second-biggest partnership for Pakistan in women T20Is.
