Former president Rodrigo Duterte has expressed disapproval of what he perceives as efforts of the Marcos administration to go after his allies and supporters instead of addressing the needs of the nation, his daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte said.

“He is saddened and very angered by the fact that the taxpayers' money is being focused sa pagpadakop sa kanang mga kaalyado nato, mga supporters, instead of the more important things,” Kitty Duterte said in a mix of English and Bisaya in an interview posted on the Facebook page of Alvin & Tourism.

“Like right now, may El Niño, ‘di ba (there’s El Niño, right)? And several other things like flood control projects, budgets for the more important things, for the needs, the basic needs of the Filipino people,” she added.

The Philippine government has raised a P50-million reward for the arrest of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, one of the known allies of the former president.

Dela Rosa has been issued an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) in relation to the drug war of the Duterte administration, which supposedly killed thousands of people.

He was the chief of the Philippine National Police at the time the controversial anti-drug campaign was implemented.

Duterte, meanwhile, is currently detained at the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands, while awaiting his crimes against humanity trial.

Kitty Duterte said that Filipinos should stand firm in their convictions in opposing the supposed injustices in the Philippines.

“All I can say is that now more than ever, we have to remain steadfast in our conviction and on our stand against all the injustices we are facing as a people, as a nation, because we are the only ones who can stop this,” she said.

“At some point, it will get too much. So it depends on us,” she added. —AOL, GMA News
