'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' is heading towards another major box-office milestone, with the Tom Holland-led Marvel blockbuster on course to finish its theatrical run with a worldwide haul of between USD 2.5 billion and USD 2.6 billion, according to current box office predictions.The Destin Daniel Cretton directorial has already crossed the USD 2.4 billion mark globally, making it the third-highest-grossing film in history, behind only James Cameron's 'Avatar' and the Russo Brothers' 'Avengers: Endgame'.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ closing in on domestic record

'Brand New Day' added around USD 9 million at the North American box office over the latest weekend, taking its domestic total to approximately USD 935.2 million.The film is now just over USD 1 million away from overtaking 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', which holds the all-time domestic record with its lifetime collection estimated at USD 936.66 million.

As per box office predictions, 'Brand New Day' is now on course to claim the record.The film has had already set a new domestic opening-weekend record with a collection of USD 360.1 million and also became the second movie ever to cross USD 900 million domestically, following 'The Force Awakens'. While the film was tipped to cross the USD 1 billion mark at the domestic box office, based on the current trend, it could fall short of the record.

The success of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', combined with the box office collection of Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey', has also propelled Holland to the top of the list of highest-grossing actors of all time.As per various reports, Holland's films are now estimated to have generated more than USD 15.5 billion worldwide, putting him on the top of the list, ahead of Zoe Saldana's reported USD 15.47 billion haul and Scarlett Johansson's roughly USD 15.4 billion total.The actor was able to climb his way to the top, thanks to the impressive performances of 'The Odyssey' and 'Brand New Day'. While the Nolan direcorial earned an estimated USD 1.6 billion globally, the latest 'Spider-Man' film crossed USD 2.4 billion.
