35 areas nationwide record unhealthy API readings

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 35 areas nationwide recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 10am today.
According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, Batu Pahat in Johor and Johan Setia in Selangor recorded the highest API readings at 190 each.
They were followed by Cheras in Kuala Lumpur and Nilai in Negri Sembilan at 189 each, and Putrajaya at 187.
Other affected areas in Selangor were Shah Alam (180), Petaling Jaya (176), Banting (176) and Klang (169).
Batu Muda in Kuala Lumpur recorded an API reading of 177.
In Perak, Tanjung Malim recorded 154, Tasek Ipoh 147 and Pegoh Ipoh 113.
Seremban recorded 181 while Port Dickson recorded 169 in Negri Sembilan.
In Melaka, the affected areas were Bukit Rambai (175), Alor Gajah (174) and Bandaraya Melaka (174).
In Johor, the areas were Segamat (177), Pasir Gudang (173), Tangkak (169), Larkin (167), Pengerang (165), Kota Tinggi (164) and Kluang (161).
In Pahang, the readings were Temerloh (168), Indera Mahkota (160), Jerantut (159), Rompin (158), Balok Baru (156) and Kuantan (156).
In Terengganu, Kemaman and Paka recorded 156 each, while Kuala Terengganu recorded 120.
The API reading was 155 in Tawau, Sabah, and 152 at the Serian district police headquarters in Sarawak.
Meanwhile, 31 areas recorded moderate API readings while two areas recorded good readings.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
