SEREMBAN, Oct 16 — A woman was found dead after allegedly being stabbed by her husband at a Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) quarters unit last night, believed to have stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police received a report regarding the incident at about 9.30pm after a man surrendered himself at the Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi Police Station in Sepang, Selangor, and reported his wife’s death at their residence.

Acting on the information, a police team was dispatched to the scene, where they found a woman, in her 30s, unconscious.

He said initial investigations by the Negeri Sembilan D10 Forensic Division found that the victim sustained injuries suspected to be from being stabbed, while a knife along with several other pieces of evidence were also seized to assist in the investigation.

“The deceased was a customs officer who had been transferred to the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), effective July 1,” he said in a statement today.

He said a medical team from the Nilai Health Clinic examined the victim at the scene and confirmed her death, and that police have arrested her husband, also in his 30s, to assist in the investigation.

Alzafny said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and that the suspect has been remanded for seven days until October 22.

He also advised the public against making any speculation that could interfere with police investigations. — Bernama
