Pangasinan’s San Roque Dam nears spilling level
CALASIAO, Pangasinan – The San Roque multi-purpose dam’s elevation has almost reached its mandatory spilling level of 280 meters above sea level as of 8 am of Monday (Aug. 31).
The dam’s reservoir elevation rose by 4.76 meters in 24 hours, or from 275.09 meters as of 8 am on Sunday (Aug. 30) to 279.85 meters as of 8 am on Monday, records of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration showed.

No spillway gate is open as of presstime, although the dam’s low-level output continues to release 150-169 cubic meters per second of water.

Tommy Valdez, San Roque Power Corporation’s senior vice president for community affairs, said the company is waiting for instruction from the National Power Corporation if the gates would be opened.
The NPC officials are at the SRPC office at of presstime to study the situation, he said.
