Police urge public to avoid Bagan Lalang shoreline after crocodile sighting

Translate

SEPANG: Police have advised the public to stay away from the shoreline at Bagan Lalang beach in Sungai Pelek following a reported crocodile sighting yesterday.

Sepang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, said police received information from the public late yesterday afternoon about a crocodile spotted near a resort at the beach.

He said police would work with the relevant agencies to address the situation.

"The public are advised to refrain from activities along the shoreline to ensure the safety of local residents and tourists," he said in a statement today.

A video showing a crocodile surfacing near the beach had earlier gone viral on social media.

Norhizam said all necessary measures would be taken in cooperation with the relevant agencies to ensure public safety.
