The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Is $10 Ahead of Release

Nintendo is bringing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fans back to a revamped Hyrule next week, and now they can save more than $10 on the highly anticipated remake before it arrives.

Set for release on November 5th exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, the rebuilt version of the 1998 classic is currently available to pre-order for $59.88 at Amazon, down from its standard physical price of $69.99. The physical edition is expected to return to its regular price after launch, while the digital version will remain $59.99.

Far more than a touch-up, the remake reimagines Link’s journey through Hyrule and time with overhauled graphics, updated controls (including rolls-to-dash mechanics), and a newly orchestrated take on Koji Kondo’s seminal score. The developers set out to retain the spirit of the Nintendo 64 classic while making the adventure accessible to a generation raised on modern third-person action games. The first physical print run also features special packaging with textured foil cover art.

Originally released in 1998, Ocarina of Time remains one of gaming’s most celebrated and influential adventures. And while its November 5th release puts it just two weeks ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI, the two games are hardly competing for the same experience. After all, it’s tough to compete with GTA VI – but it’s just as tough to compete with nostalgia.
