Ping dares Alan Peter: Name people being threatened
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Panfilo Lacson dared Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano to name the individuals he allegedly threatened over the ongoing probe into anomalous infrastructure projects and reclamation activities in Taguig City.
In a post on X, Lacson responded to Cayetano’s Facebook livestream, where the minority leader claimed he received feelers that parties were being pressured to admit to irregularities in Taguig.
“Spinning tales betrays panic, but like guilt, it will never go away,” Lacson said.
“Sen. Cayetano should name the ‘individuals’ he alleged I threatened, so I can properly address this new issue point by point,” he added.
Lacson previously submitted at least 45 case studies to the Office of the Ombudsman detailing alleged anomalies in flood control infrastructure projects in Taguig, prompting a fact-finding investigation.
He also released a video from an inspection team documenting continued illegal reclamation on the Taguig side of Laguna Lake.
Recalling an earlier exchange on Sept. 3, Lacson dismissed Cayetano’s claims of a political demolition job: “PATHETIC. Imagine someone ‘quacking’ on FB Live with accusations of politically motivated demolition job, fake news and trial by publicity and at the same time ‘quaking in his boots’ every time each piece of evidence of corruption in his turf unfolds before his eyes.”
The probe into reclamation projects in Taguig comes amid the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
