Translate

PHUKET – A foreign man threw banknotes into the air on Bangla Road in Patong, Phuket, attracting a crowd of people who rushed to collect the money, according to images shared on social media on Tuesday.

The incident took place on the popular nightlife street in Patong, Kathu district. Images posted by the Facebook page Matthew Patong on 27 October showed a shirtless man wearing shorts scattering banknotes into the air as tourists and other people watched.

The banknotes could be seen floating down onto the road, prompting people nearby to scramble to pick them up. The incident drew attention amid the busy nighttime atmosphere of Bangla Road, one of Phuket’s best-known entertainment and tourist areas.

The images subsequently attracted interest on social media. However, the amount of money thrown and the reason behind the man’s actions have not been confirmed.
