Jackie Gonzaga mourns death of mother
Jackie Gonzaga is grieving the death of her mother, Luisa, whom she described as one of the strongest people in her life.
The “It’s Showtime” host paid tribute to her late mother through an Instagram post on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
The tribute included photos and clips of Gonzaga trying to cheer her mother up while hospitalized as well as a solo portrait of her late mom.

“Pinakamatatag. Pinakamaganda. Pinaka-mapagmahal. Mahal na mahal kita ng sobra sobra mommy ko!! I love you forever!!!!” the TV host captioned the post.

In the comments section, Gonzaga’s fellow “It’s Showtime” hosts Anne Curtis, Ryan Bang, Ogie Alcasid, Darren Espanto and Amy Perez, among others, extended their condolences to the dancer-host.
As of this writing, Gonzaga has not publicly disclosed the cause of her mother’s death.

Gonzaga rose to fame through her work as a dancer before transitioning to television hosting. She trained under dance group G-Force and later became a backup dancer on ABS-CBN’s “ASAP.”

She became widely known as “Ate Girl Jackie” on “It’s Showtime,” particularly during the “Miss Q and A” segment in 2018. Her popularity eventually led to her becoming a regular host of the noontime variety program. She also served as the main host of the show’s “Girl on Fire” dance segment.
