Sad Malaysian archery story ends with Fatin's Asian Games defeat

Translate

NAGOYA: Archer Fatin Nurfatehah Mat Salleh's campaign in the women's individual compound event came to an end in the quarter-finals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games today.

The 35-year-old lost 145-139 to South Korea's Park Jungyoon in their last eight encounter at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park.

Fatin had earlier this week defeated United Arab Emirates' Amna Alawadhi and Thailand's Kanoknapus Kaewchomphu to reach the last eight.

She was the only Malaysian archer to reach the quarter-finals across both compound and recurve individual events.

Malaysia also did not advance past the round of 1/8 in the compound and recurve team events.
