Wicketkeeper Sam Harper and batter Nic Maddinson have been picked in Australia’s squad for its upcoming Tests against South Africa.

Both inclusions come as a boost for Australia, after Josh Inglis suffered a fractured right index finger, while all-rounder Cameron Green’s availability for the first Test remains uncertain after he sustained a lower abdominal strain while batting in the final ODI against South Africa.

The three-match Test series, which begins on October 9, is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle.
