Sundeep Kishan explains why he came on board for Jason Sanjay's ‘Sigma’

Sundeep Kishan’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Sigma’ is set to hit the screens on October 2 amid growing curiosity, with the project marking the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, son of actor-turned-politician Vijay. Speaking about how he came on board ‘Sigma’, Sundeep Kishan told Cinema Vikatan that Jason Sanjay personally narrated the story to him.“Sanjay came to Hyderabad and narrated the story for three-and-a-half hours.

The way he narrated it and the clarity he had really impressed me,” the actor said.He added that the meeting took place even before the release of ‘Raayan’. Sundeep Kishan also revealed that Jason Sanjay had watched his earlier films and explained in detail which of his performances he liked and why.“By then, we had developed a good understanding. He was very clear about what he wanted to give the audience and worked very carefully to bring his vision to the screen,” he said.

Sundeep plays a character named Guru in ‘Sigma’ and said he followed several things Jason showed him while developing the role.“The film has come out very well. I have mostly worked with debutant directors, and I never look at them as newcomers. I look at why they want to make that film and whether I can see the cinema they are imagining when they narrate the story,” he explained.The actor cited ‘Maanagaram’, his collaboration with Lokesh Kanagaraj, as an example of how working with a new filmmaker can lead to something special.

He believes ‘Sigma’ could become another such experience.
