A new The Elder Scrolls release, titled Valenwood, is set to officially arrive in November this year, and you may want to mark your calendar. There’s no denying that we’re all waiting for the imminent release of The Elder Scrolls 6, the direct successor to the widely popular The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Unfortunately, it seems like the game is still a few years away from arriving; however, that does not stop fans from diving into the universe of Tamriel and experiencing its stories.
A lot of this is usually done via The Elder Scrolls Online, the MMORPG set in Tamriel that encompasses several regions and eras within that world. However, there are other ways of experiencing Tamriel without playing the MMORPG. Soon, fans will be able to jump into another portion of the Tamriel lore with the release of The Elder Scrolls: BoTSE: Valenwood. As is highlighted by the product’s page on Zatu Games, Valenwood is set to be released on November 30 this year.
Valenwood is an upcoming expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era tabletop board game. As is implied by its title, the expansion will take players to Valenwood, the home of the Bosmer. With it, players will be able to venture through a new map, face new enemies, use new gear, and embark on new quests. The tabletop game has several different upcoming expansions, including Elsweyr and Heroes of Tamriel, and Valenwood is one of them.
A cool thing about the release of Valenwood is that the expansion will also introduce the Arcanist class from The Elder Scrolls Online into Betrayal of the Second Era. Additionally, the new content will bring forth the Burglar class for players to enjoy, as well as the Security and Illusion skill lines. All of this can be applied to your character-building process during your games.
If you haven’t heard of it before, The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era is a cooperative tabletop adventure board game from Chip Theory Games. The game isn’t a traditional TTRPG experience, as it is tightly guided by the quests and progression envisioned by the game rather than a game master. However, its goal is to recreate what the best Elder Scrolls games have to offer.
The new Valenwood expansion will let players dive into the homeland of one of the most beloved races in Tamriel alongside friends. It’s a big shift in gameplay compared to traditional video games, but it may be a way of satisfying your desire for more The Elder Scrolls as you wait for TES 6.
