‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ soundtrack is coming to vinyl

David Fleming’s soundtrack to Marvel’s Wolverine is coming to vinyl.

Last month, David Fleming’s full 21-song soundtrack to Marvel’s Wolverine was released on streaming platforms. Now Amazon has announced an exclusive vinyl release featuring 9 cues from the “gritty, brutal video game.”

The 1LP is available now on exclusive translucent yellow LP, with more variants expected to be announced in the near future.

Tomorrow night (September 23) Fleming will be hosting a live soundtrack listening party alongside the creative director of Marvel’s Wolverine, Marcus Smith. You can tune in here at 1am BST (September 24) to take part.

Fleming, a two-time Emmy Award winning composer, has also worked on Widow’s Bay, The Last Of Us and Dune. “Making the score for Wolverine was a two year adventure, but he’s a character I’ve been fascinated by my whole life,” Fleming wrote on Instagram. “From Joshua Tree to Nashville, I had the help of so many incredible musicians who generously lent their talent in creating the sonic world of Logan and the characters of this story. Thank you to Marcus Smith, Scott Hanau and all my friends at Insomniac Games – this was the most fun.”

Before Marvel’s Wolverine was released James Stevenson, Insomniac Games’ director of community, took to social media to hit back at the “relentless” online “negativity” about the title. The game went on to receive middling reviews from critics but seems to be a hit with players.

Insomniac hasn’t shared any sales data about Marvel’s Wolverine but one report claims it sold more than 1.9million copies in three days. Another report says it has had the third biggest PS5 physical launch in the UK this year, just behind Resident Evil Requiem and 007 First Light.

In other news, Call Of Duty developers Activision have published a new report claiming that video game cheats are spending $8.5billion a year with a majority dropping more than $1000 a year on “a temporary ego boost”.
