IPL 2027 auction to be held in Goa in December

The IPL 2027 auction will be held in Goa in December, the BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed on Wednesday.
"This year, after hosting the IPL auction in three foreign locations - Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi last year - we are going to host it in Goa in the month of December," Saikia told ANI.
Cricinfo had reported last week that the auction for IPL 2027 would take place in the second week of December. It will be the last mini-auction of the 2023-27 cycle.

Saikia had also said in June that the BCCI was mulling starting the IPL in an earlier window than usual "so that there are no adverse weather conditions". He said that they were looking to "start it by 10th of March and conclude it by 15th of May".
Ahead of the next IPL, there have already been player movements and changes in personnel for some teams.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the defending IPL champions, having won back-to-back titles in 2025 and 2026.
