Powderfinger has added additional capital city shows to their 2027 tour, after the first ticket pre-sale saw massive demand and long queues.

The band announced their return last week, ten years after their final live show in 2010, revealing they will take to the road for shows across Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Cairns in late 2027.

Powderfinger formed in 1989, and released five ARIA number one albums and won 18 ARIA Awards before their split.

Fight for pre-sale tickets

Fans signed up for the artist and Telstra pre-sales this morning reported long waits as thousands of people attempted to score tickets to the hotly-anticipated tour.

The tour's popularity has prompted the band and partner Live Nation to add additional shows across four capital cities.

Extra shows have been announced at the Brisbane Showgrounds for Monday, September 6 and Wednesday, September 8.

The band will perform two extra shows at Melbourne Park Oval on Monday, September 25 and Wednesday, September 27.

Sydney's Domain will get one extra show on Wednesday, October 6, and the band will play an extra show at Perth's Wellington Square on Monday, September 27.
