Bhuvneshwar Kumar could make his comeback to the Indian side on Saturday, in the fifth T20I versus West Indies in Bengaluru.

This will be his first match for India in all formats after last playing a T20I versus New Zealand in November 2022.

He was initially recalled to the Indian side for the T20 series against New Zealand starting on October 22nd, but because of the shoulder injury to Arshdeep Singh, he has also been added to the squad as cover for the final (and deciding) T20 against West Indies on Saturday.

Bhuvneshwar’s recall to the Indian team, after three years, is on the back of two impressive IPL seasons, especially the 2026 season, where he took 28 wickets in just 16 games and finised second leading wicket taker.

His new-ball bowling, as well as his death-bowling speciality, is a skill set India has been lacking in recent bilateral series’, his inclusion in the side could provide just that, as well as his experience.
