First look at Kit Connor filming 'captivating' '80s-set true-crime drama

Heartstopper star Kit Connor is currently shooting his new film Preppy, an '80s-set true-crime film about Robert Chambers, also known as the Preppy Killer.
In 1986, Chambers strangled 18-year-old Jennifer Levin in New York City's Central Park, and the trial became a media circus at the time, or as Deadline put it, "captivated a generation".
The photos show Connor in character sitting on a wall, and interacting with a group of girls in the park, including one played by co-star Cara Delevingne.

The film also stars Booksmart's Diana Silvers, Emily in Paris' Jeremy O Harris, and Happy Gilmore 2's Matt Gorsky.
Behind the camera, the film is being directed by Janicza Bravo, who previously helmed episodes of The Bear, Poker Face, and Dear White People. David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck wrote the script.
Preppy is one of the many projects Kit Connor – who rose to fame with Heartstopper and has since starred in Warfare and The Wild Robot – has in the pipeline.
He'll be starring in the drama A Long Winter, the movie adaptation of video game Elden Ring, and the animated film Charlie vs the Chocolate Factory.

The actor has also been cast as the new Scott Summers/Cyclops, leader of the X-Men, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (although James Marsden is reprising his version of the character in this Christmas' Avengers: Doomsday first).
Details about the new X-Men reboot are a bit thin on the ground at the moment, but it looks like Adam Driver will be playing the classic villain Mister Sinister, and it's set for a 2027 release.
Connor's Heartstopper lead co-star Joe Locke is already part of the MCU, playing the character Billy Maximoff. Could they end up sharing the screen again as part of the shared superhero universe?
Preppy does not currently have a release date.
