RI Govt prepares mass signing of 71,000 subsidized housing in December

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Housing and Settlements Minister Maruarar Sirait plans a nationwide mass signing of subsidized mortgage agreements for 71,000 homes in December, with Malang, East Java, as the main venue.

Sirait said the event's timing would depend on President Prabowo Subianto's schedule. He visited the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, Oct. 26, to invite the president.

He said the date would be adjusted to accommodate the president's agenda.

The agreements will be signed under the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP), a government-backed subsidized mortgage program.

The planned event would be the fourth mass FLPP mortgage-signing event, following three earlier nationwide signings.

The government held a mass signing for 26,000 subsidized homes in Bogor, West Java, in September 2025, followed by 50,030 in Serang, Banten, in December.

In July 2026, it held a mass signing for 62,710 subsidized mortgages under the FLPP scheme in Batang, Central Java.

The planned 71,000-unit signing would be the largest of the four, exceeding the 62,710 mortgages recorded at the previous event.

The Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) said 464,201 subsidized mortgages had been disbursed during the first two years of Prabowo's administration, as of Oct. 20.

BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho said mortgage financing had totaled Rp57.7 trillion (about US$3.19 billion) as of Oct. 20.

From Jan. 1 to Oct. 20, 2026, subsidized mortgage disbursements reached 185,333 units, with financing totaling Rp23.09 trillion (about US$1.28 billion).

That represented 52.95 percent of the 2026 target of 350,000 FLPP mortgages, reflecting efforts to expand homeownership among lower-income households.
