Manchester City vs Sunderland player ratings — Brobbey’s hat-trick in vain as City beats Black Cats

Brian Brobbey’s hat-trick was not enough for Sunderland as it fell to a 3-5 loss against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Enzo Maresca’s men made life hard for themselves despite taking the lead three times, with Antoine Semenyo grabbing a brace while Erling Haaland, Rayan Cherki and Enzo Fernandez also got on the scoresheet.

While Fernandez got his first goal since his big-money move from Chelsea, Haaland grabbed headlines after finally scoring against Sunderland and becoming only the second player after Harry Kane to score against all Premier League clubs he has faced.

The result leaves City three points clear at the top of the table ahead of the international break, while Sunderland sits 14th.
