Suspected criminal assassination attempt leaves two wounded after car explosion, fire in Jerusalem

Two people were injured in a vehicle explosion in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood on Tuesday, Israel Police said.

Jerusalem District police officers arrived at the scene and began collecting evidence as investigators opened a probe into the circumstances surrounding the explosion.

According to Israeli media, the two injured were a man in his 50s in serious condition and a 13-year-old boy in moderate condition.

Police said the background to the incident was believed to be criminal.

The condition of the two people injured was not immediately provided.
