Noah Kahan Unveils Lead Single “Draw You Out”, Written For ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping’ Album

Keeping with a tradition of featuring popular musical artists penning original songs for the franchise, Lionsgate has recruited Noah Kahan to write the lead single for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, coming to theaters November 20.

“Draw You Out” will release Friday, October 2.

The album will also feature songs heard in previous Hunger Games films like “Deep in the Meadow,” which Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) sang in the first film, and “The Old Therebefore,” which Lucy Grey Baird (Rachel Zegler) sang in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023).

Lizzie McAlpine fans have been speculating that the songstress may be behind “The Wheel” in the 29-song tracklist. In the past, Taylor Swift wrote “Safe and Sound (feat. Civil Wars)” featred in the first film which came out in 2012 as well as “Eyes Open” for the companion soundtrack. Lorde wrote “Yellow Flicker Beat” for Mockingjay Part 1. Olivia Rodrigo wrote “Can’t Catch Me Now” for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

“Dove Song” likely will be about or have to do with Lenore Dove (Whitney Peak).

Sunrise on the Reaping is adapted from the latest book by Suzanne Collins, published in March 2025. The story centers on a young Haymitch Abernathy, portrayed by Woody Harrelson in the first four films, who participated in the second Quarter Quell Hunger Games, which always involves an extra wrinkle or rule to the reaping to remind the rebellious districts to stay in line. For the 50th games, twice the amount of tributes were selected from each district to participate in the bloodbath that yields only one victor.

Joseph Zada (We Were Liars, East of Eden) will portray a younger version of Haymitch, and Whitney Peak will play his love interest, Lenore Dove. The film will also star Ben Wang, McKenna Grace, Elle Fanning, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Ralph Fiennes, Kieran Culkin, Jesse Plemons and many more.

Kahan recently performed Simon & Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” at the 2026 Emmys for the In Memoriam segment.

He had his Netflix documentary, Noah Kahan: Out of Body premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival in March before releasing on the streamer in April ahead of the release of his latest album, The Great Divide, which released later that same month.

“This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I am so grateful for the opportunity to write for this moving film, having adored the works of art by Suzanne Collins,” the singer posted on Instagram. “I was already totally connected and inspired by the tragic yet hopeful story of Haymitch and Lenore Dove, and writing a song about the purpose, grief and perseverance through pain that they exemplify was an experience I’ll always be grateful for. This is an incredible film, and I am so honored to be a small part of it.”
