Street Fighter has hit a rough patch at the box office, and it's the one outside project of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes that people are watching right now. The movie opened at No. 1 with $31 million domestic, then fell sharply in its second weekend. Deadline's estimates put the drop between 72% and 79%, and the domestic total after 10 days is estimated at $46.4 million to $47.8 million. The film came out on October 16 and won its opening weekend, so the fall stings more.
Street Fighter suffers a major box office drop after its strong opening weekend
Worldwide it made $51.1 million that first weekend, a franchise record, though it was short of the roughly $70 million some analysts had hoped for.
Its reported production budget is $82 million, and the reviews were mixed, with 42% from critics and 79% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Monday already looked bad, since it earned about $1.9 million and lost the day to A24's You Can See Everything.
Another recent video game adaptation did better in the same spot. Mortal Kombat 2, released in May 2026, recorded a 65% decline in its second weekend, which is a clearer way to see how steep this fall was.
Reigns plays Akuma in the movie and Rhodes appears as Guile, a character Jean-Claude Van Damme played in the 1994 film. That casting tied the project to WWE audiences, and both men are still active in the ring.
Reigns is currently the World Heavyweight Champion and is feuding with 946 on RAW. Rhodes is dealing with Randy Orton, and the two are heading toward another major showdown.
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have major WWE matches lined up for Crown Jewel
Both of them are expected to feature at Crown Jewel on November 7, which WWE has been preparing for in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The conflict in the Middle East has led to reports that the show might be moved to the United States, and a backup city there is reportedly under consideration. No alternative venue has been officially announced.
Reigns is set to face Sami Zayn in a Champion vs. Champion match with the Crown Jewel Championship on the line, and that bout is planned to headline the event.
Rhodes is scheduled to face Orton in a Last Man Standing match, which is expected to settle their ongoing rivalry. Rhodes had also been considered a possible Undisputed WWE Champion heading into Crown Jewel.
