Gelpiyo Anime Gets Sequel on October 21
Tokyo MX announced on Thursday that the Gelpiyo television anime of industrial company Taica's Gelpiyo mascot character will get a sequel that will premiere on the Tokyo MX1 channel on October 21.
The regular cast members from the previous anime return to their roles. The new guest cast members include Park Yu Chun as a fortuneteller, and RIP SLYME hip hop group artist SU as himself.
Silent Siren performs the anime's opening theme song "Atta UMA," while NEVER END ROLL performs the anime's ending theme song "Ganbatterutte Saikō Jan!" (Giving it Your All is the Best, After All!). Silent Siren's vocalist and guitarist Suu/Sumire Yoshida and bassist Ainyan/Aina Yamauchi are also playing the members of the in-story band trio Si Si Piyo (an apparent nod to Silent Siren), while NEVER END ROLL's member Airi Mizushima plays the in-story idol Neve En Piyo (an apparent nod to NEVER END ROLL).
In the story, Gelpiyo and similar characters contain the "Alpha Gel" quality that allow them to bounce back after any setback. They are sent out by Alpha Industry to the mysterious Geltown to further the company's plot of world domination. There, they plan to raise trouble, even though they constantly get involved in events in the town.

- Taisei Fukumoto as BamoPiyo/Boss Chiki
- Aopon as Momopiyo
- JJ (from Def Class) as Midopiyo
- Dome Narita as Parupiyo
- Daisuke Tōyama as Sumopiyo
The first anime debuted on January 21, and aired 10 episodes. The anime also streamed on R Channel at the same time.
Taica is known for its "Alpha Gel" technology, a shock-absorbing gel that the company manufactures.
