"Dreadful decision": Strictly Come Dancing fans react to sixth couple elimination

Viewers have expressed outrage as fan favourites Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu have become the latest couple to bid farewell to Strictly Come Dancing.
The pair faced the dance off against Cach Mercer and Maddie Ingoldsby, as both couples returned to the floor to perform their routines again and save themselves from elimination.

Bethany and Nancy performed their Foxtrot to 'Bleeding Love' by Leona Lewis, while Cach and Maddie performed their Waltz to 'That Ain’t You' by Mulaa Joans.
Anton Du Beke chose to save Cach and Maddie, and both Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse chose to save Bethany and Nancy, requiring Head Judge Shirley Ballas to cast the deciding vote. She ultimately favoured Cach and Maddie.
The fans were not happy about the decision.
"Bethany and Nancy did not deserve to go home," wrote one viewer, a sentiment reflected across social media, with another viewer writing: "Honestly so gutted for Bethany and Nancy. Not sure what the judges were thinking. Dreadful decision!"
"I feel so awful for Bethany and Nancy," one fan offered. "There were 4 couples worse than them last night, but they're in yet another dance off, they haven't even had an interview on the results show since the start of the series. I really don't understand why the public hate them."
Many seemed to criticise Ballas for what they viewed as a hypocritical stance when it came to Mercer and Antonia's techniques on the night.
"So let me get this straight," one user wrote. "The guy whose footwork was abysmal got to go through and the girl who was improving every week and had her best dance yet got sent home? Make that make sense."

Another wrote: "So Shirley says that Bethany and Nancy had better footwork, which is always her main thing she comments on, then votes Cache through because of an improvement? Well who saw that coming..."
Dani Dyer and Nikita Kuzmin came in at the top of the scoreboard this week, notching 36 points for their American Smooth routing to 'It Had to Be You' by Harry Connick Jr., while last weeks top-scorers, Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola, slid to the fifth position with their Rumba routing to 'Yellow' by Coldplay receiving a score of 30.
The remaining couples will take to the dancefloor again next week at 6.30pm on Saturday 14 November, with the results show airing on Sunday 15 at 7.10pm.
