People inside WWE reportedly believe Enzo Amore has signed a new deal, which would put his comeback closer than a lot of people expected. The former Cruiserweight Champion was also spotted at the WWE Performance Center on November 4, with TNA wrestler Joe Alonzo, during latest NXT tapings. PWInsider's Mike Johnson reported that Amore may have agreed to a contract within the past week, and NXT is the expected destination. Fightful hasn't independently confirmed the signing though, and WWE has announced nothing yet. If it happens, it ends his nearly nine-year absence from WWE programming.
Enzo Amore Reportedly Signs a New WWE Deal as NXT Emerges as His Potential Destination
PWInsider says multiple people backstage think Amore has signed a new WWE contract. Johnson reported the deal was believed to be done sometime in the week leading up to November 4.
Then came Fightful's update on November 5, which said Amore and Joe Alonzo visited the WWE Performance Center in Orlando during the November 4 NXT tapings. A visit isn't proof of a contract, but it adds one more piece to the return speculation.
Earlier, WrestleVotes reported that WWE creative knew the audience wanted Amore back. According to that report, there was a feeling the audience was “waiting for Enzo Amore,” and that was reportedly “hampering” what creative could do with Big Cass.
Big Cass Has Already Returned to WWE While Amore Explored a Possible AEW Move
Amore and Big Cass have been tied together in return talk for months. WWE reportedly liked the idea of putting the former partners back together in May 2026, when WrestleVotes first said the company wanted Enzo and Cass reunion. They last teamed in WWE in 2017.
Cass did make it back on the August 3 episode of RAW, but as a singles competitor. He's working as a heel (the villain role) alongside Ethan Page right now, and Amore wasn't part of that return.
Another promotion was in the picture too. Fightful's sources within AEW said Amore had“tested the waters”about a possible move earlier this year. No agreement or signing with AEW got reported.
Amore's WWE exit goes back to January 2018, when the company released him following sexual assault allegations, which he denied. The Phoenix Police Department closed its investigation in May 2018 due to insufficient evidence.
After that he wrestled outside WWE as Real1 and nZo, working for promotions including TNA Wrestling and MLW. He also held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice during his original run.
So for now, the latest reports point towards NXT, but neither WWE nor Amore has publicly confirmed a new deal or a return date.
