Negeri Sembilan PKR urges swift end to state administrative impasse

SEREMBAN, Sept 30 — The Negeri Sembilan Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Leadership Council has called for the state’s institutional and administrative impasse to be resolved swiftly to ensure government affairs and the people’s interests are not further affected.

Its chairman, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, said the developments involved not only constitutional and royal institutional issues but also raised concerns over the continuity of the state administration, economic stability and public welfare.

The former menteri besar said uncertainty over the status of members of the State Executive Council (Exco) could delay important matters requiring consideration and approval by the state authorities.

“Investment and development matters, as well as land approvals and transfers and project implementation, could be affected. This could undermine investor confidence, complicate matters for landowners and businesses, and affect employment and household incomes.

“The appointment and functions of Village Development and Security Committees (JPKK) and councillors also cannot remain in limbo, as both serve as links between the government and the people at grassroots level. Their absence risks weakening representation and effective coordination,” he said in a Facebook post today.

The Port Dickson Member of Parliament said the situation had also created a perception that the state government was not functioning effectively due to the prolonged dispute.

Aminuddin said all political leaders should exercise restraint, avoid statements that could heighten tensions and allow constitutional and legal processes to resolve the crisis.

Yesterday, Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim had an audience with Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawi,r for nearly three hours at Istana Hinggap here.

The meeting was understood to have followed issues related to the state’s administration and the ongoing situation.

Tuanku Muhriz had previously revoked the appointments of 10 members of the state’s Exco, effective September 20. The revocation was gazetted on September 24.

The affected exco members are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa and Datuk Razali Abu Samah. — Bernama
