Thai Teen Goalkeeper Poomraphee to Sign Pro Deal With J.League Club

BANGKOK — 15 October 2026, Poomraphee Siribunyakul, an 18-year-old Thai goalkeeper studying at Kashima Gakuen High School in Japan, is set to begin his professional football career with J.League club V-Varen Nagasaki on 1 January 2027.

Poomraphee helped Kashima Gakuen reach the final of Japan’s 104th National High School Soccer Championship, earning recognition for his performances and a place in Thailand’s youth national team setup.

He has also had the opportunity to train with V-Varen Nagasaki, where he reportedly impressed the club with his performances.

The Japanese club has now officially confirmed that Poomraphee will sign a professional contract effective from 1 January 2027.

V-Varen Nagasaki has a track record of developing players who go on to represent Japan and pursue careers overseas. Notable names include Japan international striker Ayase Ueda, who currently plays for Lille in France’s Ligue 1, and Haruto Miura, who has played for Darmstadt in Germany.

Poomraphee’s move marks a significant step in his development as one of Thailand’s promising young goalkeeping prospects, as he prepares to begin his professional career in Japanese football.
