Amanda Seyfried Hinted at a ‘You Can See Everything’ Role in a CBS Interview Last Year

Translate

Amanda Seyfried briefly impersonated Elizabeth Holmes and may have hinted at a secret role in You Can See Everything in an overlooked interview for CBS Sunday Morning.

In a resurfaced 2025 interview with Seyfried and CBS contributor Ben Mankiewicz (watch it below), The Dropout and The Housemaid star was asked to do her Holmes impression as if she was talking to her kids. Seyfried gamely complied, and added about her impression, “I don’t look anything like her. She was just very differently — well, I’ve had some practice lately. But it’s her own way of speaking she can’t change it. She did definitely bring [her voice tone] down a few frequencies for her own reasons. But she was performing. She was playing a character. But her voice is her voice.”

Spoiler warning for those who haven’t yet see the Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim documentary …

Seyfried doesn’t just appear in You Can See Everything, but the actress plays a very large role — gamely reprising her Holmes impression to help Fielder reenact some of his interactions with Holmes which were not on camera, and also notably pushed back on Fielder and Holmes’ husband Billy Evans while discussing certain topics. Her role was kept out of the marketing materials and reviews for the film, but with the documentary headed into its third week of release, the secret is largely out, with Google searches for Seyfried having spiked last week.

The A24 documentary has earned an incredible $45 million domestically after just 10 days in theaters, and expanded from 855 theaters to 2,655 theaters for its second week. There’s some speculation that the documentary might even hit the coveted $100 million mark, which is all the more impressive given the film’s three-hour run time.
