Big blow for New Zealand! Star batter ruled out of remainder of ODI series against India

New Zealand have suffered a setback ahead of the second ODI against India, with opener Devon Conway ruled out of the remaining matches of the five-game series after sustaining a concussion during a training session on Tuesday.Conway suffered the injury while fielding during practice, forcing him out of the remainder of the ODI series. Left-handed batter Nick Kelly, who was initially selected for the fourth and fifth ODIs, will now join the squad in Wellington on Friday as his replacement.

There was some relief for the New Zealand camp, however, as Matt Henry, who was involved in the fielding mishap that resulted in Conway's injury, has been cleared of concussion. The development comes after New Zealand lost the opening ODI to India in Auckland on Wednesday. Virat Kohli's authoritative 74, coupled with impressive bowling performances from Arshdeep Singh and Anshul Kamboj, helped India secure a comfortable victory in the rain-affected contest.Arshdeep led the attack with four wickets, while Gurnoor Brar picked up three scalps and Kamboj claimed two as New Zealand were bowled out for 185. India then chased down the revised target of 143 in 32 overs despite rain interruptions. The second ODI will be played at Sky Stadium in Wellington on Saturday, with New Zealand looking to bounce back and level the series.
