Sisi warns against mounting conspiracy to destabilize Egypt

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi warned Thursday that persistent schemes to destabilize the state remain an ongoing threat, declaring that the unrest witnessed between 2011 and 2013 “has not ended” and that underlying plots “have not stopped.”

Speaking during an address at the Egyptian Military Academy, President Sisi emphasized that while methods may evolve, the push to dismantle the state persists, underscoring public awareness as the nation’s primary defense against continuous challenges.

Reflecting on regional volatility, Sisi noted that while several neighboring nations suffered catastrophic destabilization during that period, Egypt miraculously survived.

He described the nation’s survival as a divine blessing, asserting that events across the region were systematically orchestrated and planned, imposing a heavy responsibility on Egypt to safeguard its stability—particularly given its finite national resources.

The President stressed that protecting the state is a collective civic duty rather than a mandate tied to any single authority or leadership figure. Framing national preservation around the institution of the presidency, he cautioned, distorts the true purpose of state resilience, which rests on the joint responsibility of the government, institutions, and the Egyptian public.
