OLONGAPO CITY — The seven-year-old Aeta girl (not boy as earlier reported) who went missing after the carabao-drawn cart he was riding with his father was swept away by a strong river current in the Zambales town of Botolan has been found.
The girl was recovered on Thursday, according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), a day after his 35-year-old father, identified as Simeon Candule, was found dead.

The father and daughter had been missing since Tuesday when the cart they were riding home overturned after a strong and fast-flowing current from an upland area swept them downstream.
Carabao-drawn carts are a common means of transportation in the Aeta community, where residents still have no proper road connecting their community to other areas./coa
