Men seen dragging dog behind motorcycle in Batu Lancang
GEORGE TOWN: Two men were seen dragging a black dog behind a motorcycle in Batu Lancang yesterday, prompting a passerby to intervene.
Independent rescuer David Yim, who lodged a report with the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), said the woman who witnessed the incident shouted at the men and urged them to stop, but they allegedly continued before leaving the area.
"The dog is believed to have suffered serious injuries.
"The two men and the motorcycle later disappeared from the area," he said.
Yim said the woman had provided photographs and videos purportedly showing the incident.
He urged the authorities to investigate and take swift action if animal cruelty was established.
Penang DVS director Dr Saira Banu Mohamed Rejab confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
