Michelle Dockery, Genevieve O’Reilly, Quintessa Swindell Join Jessica Gunning in Netflix Jungle Drama ‘Feral’

Jessica Gunning and Michelle Dockery are set to lead a new comedic drama series for Netflix called “Feral.”

Based on the novel “Savages” by Shirley Conran, the seven-part series will also feature Genevieve O’Reilly (“Andor”), Quintessa Swindell (“Prime Target”) and Dolly de Leon (“Triangle of Sadness”).

Gunning plays Annie while Dockery joins as Julia. O’Reilly is Silvana, Swindell is Suzy and de Leon plays Elena. The series is set to start shooting in Australia this year.

The logline reads: “Four very different women accompany their mining executive husbands on a corporate holiday to a beautiful but lethal tropical island. When the men’s shady deals land them all in danger, the women must learn to survive the jungle – and each other. Can they put aside their differences, self-doubts and vanities to stay alive?”

Gunning is of course known for her breakout role as Martha in Netflix’s 2024 hit “Baby Reindeer” while Dockery’s long-running turn as Lady Mary in “Downton Abbey” has also made her a household name.

The series, from “Hamnet” producer Hera Pictures, is adapted by Jude Mack and directed by Emma Freeman. Liza Marshall and Bria Thomas exec produce for Hera Pictures alongside Jude Mack, Emma Freeman, Hamish Lewis and David Belshaw for Warner Bros. International Television Production. Lauri Borg is series producer.

“We’re delighted to be working with the incredibly talented Jude Mack to bring Shirley Conran’s best-selling novel to the screen,” said Marshall, who is founded Hera Pictures. “The extraordinary female characters at the heart of the show will be pushed to extremes, behave deliciously badly and have a whole lot of fun along the way. Emma Freeman is the perfect director to take us on the ride, and Netflix have wholeheartedly embraced the scale and ambition of the show.”
