BPJPH seals 39 partnerships on first day of 5th H20 Summit

The Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) stated that the opening day of the 5th Halal 20 (H20) Summit yielded 39 strategic partnerships to bolster national and international halal product assurance ecosystems.

"The cooperation produced by H20 demonstrates that strengthening halal ecosystems requires cross-border and cross-sector collaboration," Abdul Syakur, BPJPH Deputy for Partnerships and Halal Standardization, said in a statement on Saturday.

The signed documents comprise 15 Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs), four Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), 19 cooperation agreements, and one separate MoU between BPJPH and a domestic partner.

"Through the MRAs, MoUs, and human resource development cooperation, BPJPH will continue building a network that will pave the way for a stronger and more credible halal product assurance framework with global recognition," Syakur added.

BPJPH signed the MRAs to establish mutual acceptance of halal certification with 15 international halal certification bodies from Australia, Switzerland, Vietnam, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Russia, Tunisia, New Zealand, Japan, Portugal, and Colombia.

The agency also signed four MoUs with four international entities: South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Shanghai-based UniGlobal Trainbiz, Australia's Wagstaff Food Service, and UK-based Islam Channel Limited.

At the national level, BPJPH signed 19 cooperation agreements with halal training institutions on the summit's opening day to expand human resource capacity and competence in halal product assurance.

In addition, the agency signed a separate MoU with PT Agri Tekno Karya, a Jakarta-based company specializing in assistance services for the forestry and food sectors.

The 5th H20 Summit runs through Sunday, drawing 450 participants from 48 countries under the theme "Bridging Bridges: Connecting Nations & Stronger Partnerships through Global Halal Trade & Economy."
