Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar chaired on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, the seventh meeting of the Board of Directors of the Medical Professions Risk Compensation Fund, in the presence of Hussein Dahroug, the fund’s executive director, and representatives of the ministries and authorities serving as board members.

Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the meeting addressed a number of issues on the agenda, including a review of the fund’s financial position, follow-up on compensation payments, and plans for investing its funds, in addition to discussing proposed areas of cooperation aimed at supporting medical professionals.

The board reviewed the fund’s total revenues and balances through the end of August 2026, as well as compensation paid to eligible beneficiaries in cases of death and injuries resulting in total or partial disability.

It also discussed the fund’s investment plan through the end of August 2026 and its total balances held with commercial banks, along with ongoing monitoring of its investment and financial position to preserve its resources and strengthen its ability to meet its obligations toward beneficiaries.

The meeting also reviewed the latest developments regarding the fund’s new headquarters at the Ministry of Labor and the proposed date for relocating there in December.

The board further discussed a number of proposed cooperation protocols with the Ministry of Health and Population through its National Projects and Medical Professions Development sectors, as well as cooperation with the Egyptian Health Council and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals.

The minister stressed the importance of directing the fund’s cooperation and spending toward areas that provide direct and tangible benefits to medical professionals, contribute to reducing risks associated with practicing health professions, and enhance the support and protection provided to them.

He added that such efforts would positively contribute to improving the working environment and the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.
