Jakarta govt opens health services to patients without city ID cards

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said patients without Jakarta identity cards would receive care at Taman Sari Community Health Center in West Jakarta, which he inaugurated on Monday.
“I also asked how we would accommodate people without Jakarta ID cards. They will still be accepted,” Pramono said, adding that he wanted to ensure officials were implementing his directives properly.
Pramono also checked whether people affected by Anak Krakatau’s eruption and forest and land fires could receive treatment at the health center.
“I wanted to check whether people had come for treatment following the Anak Krakatau eruption and forest fires. They have,” Pramono said.
Pramono previously announced that anyone suffering respiratory problems from forest-fire haze in Jakarta could seek treatment at the capital’s health facilities.
“It is not limited to Jakarta ID card holders. Anyone with suspected smoke-related health problems can visit a community health center, an auxiliary center or a hospital. The service is already operating,” Pramono said.
Pramono said he had ordered 31 city-owned hospitals, 44 community health centers and 292 auxiliary health centers to stand ready to treat residents needing medical assistance.
Pramono inaugurated Taman Sari Community Health Center in West Jakarta, which offers a range of services for pregnant women, infants and older adults.
The center also provides prenatal exercise classes, infant massage services, a gym and exercise classes for older adults, he said.
The facility was built on a site measuring about 976 square meters, with a total building area of about 2,725 square meters, Pramono said.
The center can serve about 124,500 people, averaging 500 patient visits daily. It is supported by five auxiliary health centers and 63 integrated health posts, he said.
