The remains of a Philippine Air Force (PAF) pilot, who was killed in a flight training collision on October 23, have arrived in his hometown in Tuguegarao City on Tuesday morning.

In a post of the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, the pilot was identified as 1st Lt. Angeleo Adrian Peñaflor, who was born in Iguig, Cagayan.

Peñaflor is one of the four pilots who were killed in what the PAF described as an “aviation accident” during a training flight at Fernando Air Base in Lipa City, Batangas.

The incident reportedly involved two single-propeller SF-260 aircraft.

The PAF has grounded its entire fleet of SF-260 aircraft as a safety precaution following the incident, while investigations remain ongoing.

The Cagayan Provincial Information Office, citing Peñaflor’s wife, said the PAF pilot's remains are expected to be interred at the Ortiz Memorial Chapel. —VAL, GMA News
