Jennifer Lawrence hides behind huge shades as she breaks cover after plastic surgery confession

Jennifer Lawrence broke cover in New York City this week, following her public confirmation that she has undergone plastic surgery.

The 36-year-old revealed she acquired a breast enhancement after feeling that 'nothing bounced back' in the wake of her second pregnancy.

Lawrence has two young sons with her art gallerist husband Cooke Maroney – Cy, four, and a toddler born March 2025 whose name she has kept under wraps.

In her new interview, the Oscar winner bared her ambitions to be a 'sexy mom' and confessed her intention to eventually have a facelift, via The Cut.

The accompanying cover shoot was greeted with a chorus of groans on social media, where fans bewailed what they theorized was Lawrence's 'changing face.'

As the blowback erupted, she stepped out in Manhattan on Wednesday with her complexion partly obscured behind a large set of sunglasses.

The Daily Mail has contacted a representative for Lawrence for comment.

'I want to be a sexy mom,' Lawrence declared in her new interview with The Cut. 'At drop-off, I want to look like a woman that has her s*** together even when I’ve just woken up and don’t have my s*** together.'

The magazine photos that attended the comments went viral, eliciting online jibes such as: 'I wouldn't recognize this woman as Jennifer Lawrence.'

'Why do celebrities feel the need to get work done? In most cases, they become unrecognizable. Does altering their look actually help their careers?' wrote another.

'Oh, please, not JLaw. Of all people that breaks my heart...' another moaned, adding: 'Why does her face look so different? It's subtle but at the same time feels like I'm looking at an impersonator.'

Lawrence disclosed last October that she was planning a breast enhancement because of the effect her second pregnancy had on her body.

'Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one. Second one, nothing bounced back,' she said in an interview with the New Yorker.

How do you feel about celebrities altering their looks and the impact it has on their fans' perceptions?

What's your view?

Lawrence noted for good measure that she also had a nude scene to film in the coming months, and although she neglected to name the project at the time, it has since been revealed as Martin Scorsese's What Happens at Night.

She maintained she would still have the procedure were she not a celebrity, but admitted that 'maybe I wouldn’t be hustling to the appointment in the same way.'

The No Hard Feelings star insisted at the time that she had not hopped aboard the recently turbocharged fad of facelifts: 'But I'm gonna!'

In an interview published last month, the Don't Look Up actress copped to availing herself of Botox but insisted she confined herself to small doses.

Lawrence explained that she 'can’t really get very much done. I need to have movement in my face - I get baby Botox, but I can't do a lot,' via Vogue.

She credited her glow to facials, reasoning: 'If my skin is going to be a little saggier than I would like, at least it looks dewy and pretty.'

The Kentucky native acknowledged that she 'would love to have a buccal fat removal. I can’t because everybody would know, but just know that I want that.'
