Sarawak’s Serian, Kuching, Samarahan and Sri Aman see ‘Unhealthy’ API levels

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 — Four areas in Sarawak recorded Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at the unhealthy level as of 9 am today, with the Serian district police headquarters (IPD) recording the highest reading at 178.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, other areas in the state recording unhealthy readings were Kuching (166), Samarahan (165), and Sri Aman (163).
Meanwhile, 61 areas nationwide recorded moderate readings including Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur (73); Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (63); Balik Pulau, Penang (55); and Kangar, Perlis (52) while three other areas recorded good readings.
API readings of 0 to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and readings exceeding 300 are at a hazardous level. — Bernama
