India bat and bring in Kamalini for Rawal; Gunaratne back for Sri Lanka

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and chose to bat against defending champions Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final in Dubai.

India made one change, bringing in G Kamalini for Pratika Rawal, who is "resting" according to Harmanpreet, after fielding an unchanged XI throughout the tournament. This will be Kamalini's second T20I appearance, after having made her India debut against Sri Lanka last year in Thiruvananthapuram.

Sri Lanka also made one change, with Vishmi Gunaratne coming in for Sanjana Kavindi.

Teams batting first have won nine of the 14 matches in the tournament so far. India meanwhile have won three of their four matches batting first, with Harmanpreet saying she wanted a score on the board in what she described as a "big match". Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu said her side would have bowled first anyway, and hoped to pick up early wickets to "put pressure" on India.

Both teams are unbeaten in the tournament. This is the seventh time India and Sri Lanka have met in an Asia Cup final with India winning five of those. Sri Lanka beat India in the 2024 final on the back of Athapaththu and Harshitha Samarawickrama's heroics.
